HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM Pattern Select Switch Eco Mode Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When selecting ECO mode, the ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) operation signal is sent to the air conditioning amplifier assembly. Following this, ECO mode control is activated for the heater and air conditioning system.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING GTS (CAN BUS CHECK)

   Result
   Proceed to A B

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: System Select / CAN Bus Check.

      Result
      Result Proceed to All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed. A None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed. B

   4. Turn the power switch off.

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK)

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.

   4. Check for DTCs.

      Result
      Result Proceed to No DTCs are output. A DTCs are output. B

   5. Turn the power switch off.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (INDICAT. ECO MODE)

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. ECO MODE.

      
      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test

      Tester Display
      Indicat. ECO MODE

   4. Perform the "Indicat. ECO Mode" Active Test.

      OK
      The ECO mode indicator light comes on or blinks.

   5. Turn the power switch off.

      Result
      Proceed to OK NG

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / ECO Mode.

   4. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

   4. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

6. INSPECT ECO MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

   
   

   1. Remove the ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly).

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (ECO Mode Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 (ECU) - 3 (E) ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) being pushed and held Below 50 Ω ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

   3. Install the ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly).

      Result
      Proceed to OK NG

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECO MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the E114 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

   2. 

      *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to ECO Mode Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E114-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

   3. Reconnect the E114 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

      Result
      Proceed to OK NG

   REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - ECO MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY))

   
   

   1. Disconnect the E28 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

   2. Disconnect the E114 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

   3. 

      *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly)
      *b	Front view of wire harness connector (to ECO Mode Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E28-24 (ECOS) - E114-2 (ECU) Always Below 1 Ω E28-24 (ECOS) or E114-2 (ECU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

   4. Reconnect the E114 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

   5. Reconnect the E28 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

      Result
      Proceed to OK NG
