The power management control ECU detects a problem in the collision signal line from the airbag sensor assembly and alerts the driver.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check for DTCs.


      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes
      Result
      Result Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output. A
      Airbag system DTCs are output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

  2. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)


    1. Connect an oscilloscope between the airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below.

    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).

      Measure the waveform.

    4. Turn the power switch off.

  3. CLEAR DTC

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes
    5. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs
    6. Turn the power switch off.

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check for DTCs.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes

  6. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the E14 airbag sensor assembly connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    3. Reconnect the E14 airbag sensor assembly connector.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the E111 power management control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the E14 airbag sensor assembly connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Reconnect the E14 airbag sensor assembly connector.

    5. Reconnect the E111 power management control ECU connector.
