DESCRIPTION

If an engine malfunction occurs, an engine malfunction signal is sent from the ECM to the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly. When the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly receives this signal, it stores a DTC and performs fail-safe control.

Tech Tips


  • The HV control ECU stores DTC P0A0F-204 or 205 when it receives a DTC signal from the ECM indicating abnormal engine power, engine starting malfunction or abnormal engine output an unable to start the engine be running out of fuel DTCs.

  • If the engine cannot start, the vehicle is driven using EV drive mode. However, if the vehicle is continuously driven using only EV drive mode, the HV battery will be discharged and the vehicle will not be able to be driven.

  • If any of these DTCs are output, it is required to repair the SFI system in accordance with the DTC or to add enough fuel.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ENGINE AND ECT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check for DTCs.


      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes

    5. Turn the power switch off.
