PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Temporarily install the transmission floor shift assembly to the vehicle body with the 4 bolts.

    2. A01M32GN01

      Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    3. Engage the 4 clamps to connect the wire harness to the transmission floor shift assembly.

    4. Connect the transmission control switch connector.

    5. Connect the shift lock control ECU connector.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Temporarily install the transmission floor shift assembly to the vehicle body with the 4 bolts.

    2. A01LXSQN01

      Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    3. Engage the 4 clamps to connect the wire harness to the transmission floor shift assembly.

    4. Connect the transmission control switch connector.

    5. Connect the shift lock control ECU connector.

  3. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the nut of the transmission control cable assembly approximately 180° counterclockwise. While holding the nut in place, push in the stopper until it clicks twice.

      *c Push in *d Turn approximately 180°

      Tech Tips

      If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly turn the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper again.

    2. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly. Check that the spring is positioned at (A) and push in the stopper.

      Note


      • If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly turn the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper again.

      • Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely locked.

    3. A01M09W

      Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

      Note


      • The shift lever should be in N.

      • Connect the transmission control cable assembly all the way to the base of the pin.

  4. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  5. INSTALL SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER

      *a Groove

      Engage the 2 claws to install the shift lock release button cover to the position indicator housing assembly.

      Note

      Install the shift lock release button cover with its groove facing the rear of the vehicle.

  6. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION
