CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for TMC, TMMR Made) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Temporarily install the curtain shield airbag assembly with the 2 hooks.

      Note


      • When installing the curtain shield airbag assembly, have assistants hold it to prevent it from bending.

      • Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

    4. Install 2 new bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      11 N*m  { 110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

    5. Install the curtain shield airbag assembly to the body panel with 5 claws, 6 new clips and 2 new spacers in the order shown in the illustration.

      Push in a new pin to each clip.

      Note

      Make sure that the pins of the clips are pushed in firmly.

      *2 Airbag Connector Lock

      Connect the curtain shield airbag connector.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    8. Push in the lock to install the curtain shield airbag connector.
