CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
The following procedure is for the LH side.

INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SIDE RAIL SPACER
1. Engage the 2 clips to install a new rear No. 2 side rail spacer.
INSTALL REAR NO. 3 SIDE RAIL SPACER
1. Insert the guide into the body hole and engage the clip to temporarily install a new rear No. 3 side rail spacer.
2. Install a new bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  11 N*m { 110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

Note

When installing the curtain shield airbag assembly, have assistants hold it to prevent it from bending.

Check that the engine switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

Insert the 2 guides and 2 hooks into each body hole, install 3 new bolts, 5 new clips with pins and 2 spacers, and engage 4 clips in the order shown in the illustration to install the curtain shield airbag assembly.

Torque:: 11 N*m { 110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

Note

If the curtain shield airbag assembly has been dropped, replace it with a new one.
Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

Tech Tips

Engage the 2 claws to install each new clip.

Using needle nose pliers, push the 5 pins into the 5 clips.
Note
- Do not damage the pins.
- Make sure that the pins of the clips are pushed in firmly.

Connect the airbag connector.

Note

When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

Push in the airbag connector lock to install the airbag connector.
