FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  3. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the connector.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY


    1. B000KDR

      Remove the 2 bolts <B>.

    2. Disengage the clamp to remove the radio tuner mounting bracket.

    3. Disconnect each connector.

    4. Disengage each clamp.

    5. Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A>.

    6. Remove the 3 bolts <B> and nut <F> or <G>.

    7. Remove the 2 clips.

    8. Disengage the 5 guides and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

      • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. B000LGE

      Lean the instrument panel safety pad assembly and disengage the 3 hooks.

    3. B000M6H

      Disengage the 3 hooks to remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

      *2 Airbag Connector
      *3 Airbag Connector Lock

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the 2 airbag connector locks.

    3. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
