Tech Tips

The fuel level warning light will come on when the volume of fuel in the fuel tank is as follows:


  • except TMMK Made: Below 10.5 liters (11.1 US qts, 9.2 Imp. qts)

  • for TMMK Made: Below 9.7 liters (10.3 US qts, 8.5 Imp. qts)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (FUEL METER OPERATION)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (FUEL INPUT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SUCTION TUBE ASSEMBLY WITH PUMP AND GAUGE)


    1. Disconnect the I18 combination meter assembly and N11 fuel suction tube assembly with pump and gauge connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I18-14 (FR) - N11-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω
      I18-15 (FE) - N11-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω
      I18-14 (FR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
