SMART ENTRY AND START SYSTEM (for Start Function) PRECAUTION


  1. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following system after the cable is reconnected.

  2. PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. When using the intelligent tester with the engine switch off to troubleshoot the smart entry and start system (for Start Function):

      Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3 and turn a door courtesy light on and off at 1.5-second or less intervals until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins (the intelligent tester screen changes when communication begins).

    1. If replacing any of the following parts, refer to the Service Bulletin.


      1. Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)

      2. Steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly)

      3. ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) (w/ Entry Function on Driver Door except TMMK Made)

      4. Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly
