DESCRIPTION

The ECM communicates with the generator assembly via LIN communication. If a LIN communication error is detected, the ECM stores this DTC.

  1. CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM


    1. Check the charging system Click here.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CHARGING SYSTEM

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - GENERATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the E96 ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the E99 generator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E96-61 (LIN) - E99-2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E96-61 (LIN) or E99-2 (LIN) - body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
