DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor LH detects an open in the outer rear view mirror indicator LH.

    When either of the following conditions is met:

  • Blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on.


  • The current flowing to the indicator is below a specified value when indicator operation voltage is being sent to the indicator.

  • Outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH)

  • Outer rear view mirror assembly LH

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Blind spot monitor sensor LH

  • Outer mirror control ECU assembly LH

Note

When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH, BODY GROUND - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH) Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH, BODY GROUND - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH)


    1. Disconnect the T17 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the K12 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T17-4 (OMIL) - K12-10 (BDSL) Always Below 1 Ω
      K12-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Disconnect the z18 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.

    1. Disconnect the IND1 outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z18-7 (BSM+) - IND1-1 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      z18-12 (BSM-) - IND1-2 (-) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR LH)


    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH) Click here.

    2. Inspect the outer rear view mirror indicator LH on the outer rear view mirror LH Click here.
