DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the telematics transceiver detects an open or short circuit in the manual (SOS) switch.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Registration for Telematics System Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch ON and wait for 20 seconds.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output Click here.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

  2. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      13 (SIG1) - 9 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch not pressed 392 to 432 Ω
      13 (SIG1) - 9 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch pressed 78 to 86 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the I218 telematics transceiver connector.

    2. Disconnect the S7 roof console box assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I218-27 (SIG1) - S7-13 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      I218-26 (SIG-) - S7-9 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      I218-27 (SIG1) or S7-13 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I218-26 (SIG-) or S7-9 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. REPLACE TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER
