BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER (for LHD) REMOVAL

Note

Make sure to release vacuum from the brake booster assembly before removing the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.


  1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

    Note

    If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.

  2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE FRONT OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. w/ Windshield Deicer System:


      1. B000HLG

        Disengage the 2 clamps.

      2. Disconnect the connector and separate the wire harness from the front outer cowl top panel sub-assembly.

    2. w/ Heated Windshield Defroster System:


      1. B000HSG

        Disengage the 4 clamps.

      2. Disconnect the 2 connectors and separate the wire harness from the front outer cowl top panel sub-assembly.

    3. B000KY4

      Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the wire harness from the front outer cowl top panel sub-assembly.

    4. B000KRD

      Remove the 10 bolts and front outer cowl top panel sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (for TMC, TMMR Made)


    1. B000MPY

      Remove the 9 clips and cool air intake duct seal.

  5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (for TMMK Made)

      Remove the 9 clips and cool air intake duct seal.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 6AR-FSE)

      Disengage the 3 grommets to remove the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

      Note

      When removing the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly, make sure to lift it upward. Pulling the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly towards you may damage the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY (for 6AR-FSE)

      Remove the 2 bolts and inlet air cleaner assembly.

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (for 6AR-FSE)

      Slide the clip and disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

    2. Disengage the ventilation hose clamp.

    3. B000K4H

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    4. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    5. B000JRQ

      Disconnect the union to connector tube hose from the air cleaner hose sub-assembly.

    6. Disengage the 2 air cleaner cap clamps and 2 guides.

      Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.

  9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 6AR-FSE)


    1. Remove the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 6AR-FSE)

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY (for 2AR-FE)


    1. B000KJW

      Remove the 2 bolts and inlet air cleaner assembly.

  12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2AR-FE)


    1. B000IC4

      Disconnect the vacuum switching valve assembly from the air cleaner hose.

    2. B000ILW

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector and 2 wire harness clamps from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

    3. B000NHN

      Separate the fuel vapor feed hose from the air cleaner hose.

    4. B000LAA

      Disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.

    5. B000KT6

      Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the air cleaner hose from the throttle with motor body assembly.

    6. B000NMO

      Release the 2 clamps and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2AR-FE)

  14. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2AR-FE)


    1. B000MVL

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  15. REMOVE INLET NO. 2 AIR CLEANER (for 2GR-FE)


    1. B000NQO

      Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps and vacuum hose clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and inlet No. 2 air cleaner.

  16. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FE)


    1. B000GYQ

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector and wire harness clamp.

    2. B000JRW

      Disconnect the 3 hoses.

    3. Separate the ventilation hose.

    4. B000K4N

      Loosen the hose clamp and separate the air cleaner cap sub-assembly from the throttle with motor body assembly.

    5. Release the 2 clamps and remove the air cleaner cap with hose.

  17. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FE)

  18. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FE)


    1. B000JR9

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp, connector, vacuum hose and No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  19. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMC, TMMR Made)


    1. B000JQ8

      Disconnect the reservoir level switch connector and disengage the clamp.

    2. B000GYX

      Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines and remove the brake master cylinder to way tube from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Do not damage or deform the brake lines during the removal procedure.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake lines.

      Remove the 2 nuts, front No. 1 brake tube way and brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.

      Note


      • Do not hold the brake master cylinder sub-assembly by the master cylinder piston. Hold the brake master cylinder sub-assembly by its body or its reservoir when carrying it.

      • Do not pull out the master cylinder piston.

      • Do not strike or pinch the master cylinder piston, and do not cause any damage to the master cylinder piston by any other means.

      • When installing the brake master cylinder sub-assembly to the brake booster assembly, or when removing the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly, make sure that the brake master cylinder sub-assembly is kept horizontal or its tip faces downward (the master cylinder piston faces upward) to prevent the master cylinder piston from falling out.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter to contaminate the master cylinder piston. If any foreign matter gets on the master cylinder piston, remove it by using a piece of cloth and then apply an even layer of lithium soap base glycol grease around the circumference (sliding part) of the master cylinder piston.

      • Do not use any other types of grease.

  20. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made)

      Disengage the clamp and disconnect the reservoir level switch connector.

    2. B000JHX

      Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines and remove the brake master cylinder to way tube from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Do not damage or deform the brake lines during the removal procedure.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake lines.

  21. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER O-RING


    1. Remove the brake master cylinder O-ring from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
