DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motors according to vehicle conditions.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / HL AutoLeveling / Active Test.

    5. Check that the leveling motors operate.

      ON: Moves up

      OFF: Stops

      Drive The Leveling Motor DOWN Leveling motor downward operation ON/OFF

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. for TMC, TMMR Made:


      1. Disconnect the A34 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

      2. Disconnect the LH side or RH side headlight leveling motor connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        A34-11 (LH+) - A18-3 (LHB1) Always Below 1 Ω

        A34-11 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      1. Disconnect the A34 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

      2. Disconnect the LH side or RH side headlight leveling motor connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR


    1. Replace the headlight leveling motor with a new or a known good one (for TMC, TMMR Made: Click here, (for TMMK Made: Click here.

    2. Perform the active test of the leveling motors.
