EXHAUST PIPE INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE BAFFLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Align the concave area of each baffle with the protruding part of the tail exhaust pipe assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a plastic hammer, uniformly tap the 2 new tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assemblies onto the tail exhaust pipe assembly.

      Check that the concave area of each baffle is aligned with the protruding part on the bottom of the tail exhaust pipe assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Adjust the baffle if necessary.

  2. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)

      Using SST, install the heated oxygen sensor to the front exhaust pipe assembly.

      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • The "with SST" torque value is effective when using SST with a fulcrum length of 30 mm (1.18 in.) and a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 180 mm (7.09 in.) Click here.

      • The "with SST" torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.

  3. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)

      Using SST, install the heated oxygen sensor to the center exhaust pipe assembly.

  4. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install 2 new gaskets to the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Connect the front exhaust pipe assembly to the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket (for Rear Side).

    3. Install the front exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      55 N*m  { 561 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf }
    4. Connect the 2 heated oxygen sensor connectors.

    5. Install the 2 wire harnesses to the clamp.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET (for Front Side)


    1. Install the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket with the 2 nuts (for Front Side).

      Torque:
      33 N*m  { 337 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf }
  6. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  7. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

  8. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new gasket to the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Connect the center exhaust pipe assembly to the exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Install the center exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      for TMC Made
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }
      for TMMR Made
      49 N*m  { 500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf }
  9. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER


    1. Install the exhaust pipe damper with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }
  10. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Connect the tail exhaust pipe assembly to the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }
  11. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Connect the tail exhaust pipe assembly LH to the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly LH with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }
  12. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
