ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH


    1. Remove the 3 screws and front wheel opening extension pad RH.

  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH


    1. Remove the 3 screws, 3 clips and engine under cover RH.

  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH


    1. Remove the 3 screws and front wheel opening extension pad LH.

  4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH


    1. Remove the 3 screws, 2 clips and engine under cover LH.

  5. DRAIN ENGINE OIL


    1. Remove the oil filler cap sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the oil pan drain plug and gasket, and drain the engine oil into a container.

    3. Clean the oil pan drain plug.

    4. Install a new gasket to the oil pan drain plug.

    5. Install the oil pan drain plug.

      Torque:
      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

  6. REMOVE ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR

      Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor connector.

      Using SST, remove the engine oil temperature sensor from the water inlet housing sub-assembly.

      SST
      09817-33191

      Note

      If the engine oil temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. Remove the gasket from the engine oil temperature sensor.
