TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

    Note

    Before installing the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.


    1. Pass the transmission control cable assembly from the cabin to the engine compartment.

    2. Install the transmission control cable assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
    3. Install the dash panel insulator to the original position.

    4. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.

    5. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever with the nut.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 131 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Before connecting the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

    6. Connect the wire harness clamp.

    7. Engage the 2 claws to connect the transmission control cable assembly.

      Slide the slider of the transmission control cable in the direction indicated by the arrow and pull the lock piece outward.

      Install the transmission control cable end to the lower shift lever assembly.

      Note


      • Check that the lock piece is pulled up.

      • Install the cable end all the way to the base of the pin.

    10. Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

      Note


      • Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

      • Securely push in the lock piece until the slider lock is engaged.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

    Note

    Before installing the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.


    1. Pass the transmission control cable assembly from the cabin to the engine compartment.

    2. Install the transmission control cable assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
    3. Install the dash panel insulator to the original position.

    4. Install the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      15 N*m  { 153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }
    5. Install the floor carpet to the original position.

    6. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.

    7. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever with the nut.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 131 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Before connecting the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

    8. Connect the wire harness clamp.

    9. Engage the 2 claws to connect the transmission control cable assembly.

      Install the transmission control cable end to the lower shift lever assembly.

      Note


      • Check that the lock piece is pulled up.

      • Install the cable end all the way to the base of the pin.

    12. Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

      • Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

      • Securely push in the lock piece until the slider lock is engaged.

  3. CONNECT NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Install the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt and nut.

      Torque:
      Bolt
      15 N*m  { 153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }
    2. Install the floor carpet to the original position.

  4. INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  6. INSTALL AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for TMC, TMMR Made)

  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Insert the projection of the air cleaner case sub-assembly to the hole of the No. 2 air cleaner bracket as shown in the illustration.

    2. Tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
    3. Connect the wire harness clamp.

  8. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with the 2 clamps.

    2. Install the air cleaner hose with the hose clamp.

    3. Connect the ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover.

    4. Install the fuel vapor feed hose to the air cleaner hose.

    5. Connect the mass air flow meter connector and 2 wire harness clamps to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

    6. Connect the vacuum switching valve assembly to the air cleaner hose.

  10. INSTALL INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the inlet air cleaner with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
  11. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (for TMMK Made)


    1. Install the cool air intake duct seal with the 9 clips.

  12. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (for TMC, TMMR Made)

  13. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Fit the 3 retainers and install the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

  14. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. When the shift lever is moved from P to R with the ignition switch ON and brake pedal depressed, make sure that the shift lever moves smoothly and correctly into the position.

    2. Start the engine and make sure that the vehicle moves forward when the shift lever is moved from N to D and moves rearward when the shift lever is moved to R.
