SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH INSTALLATION

Note


  • Do not rotate the spiral cable without the steering wheel with the battery connected and the ignition switch to ON.


  1. CONNECT NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE


    1. Connect the 2 No. 1 switch wire connectors to the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assembly).

      *a 0 to 40°
      *b 1 to 3 mm

      Install new 2 clamps as shown in the illustration.

    3. Engage the 5 guides to install the No. 1 switch wire.

  2. INSTALL SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Engage the 4 pins and install the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assembly) with the 2 screws.

      Torque:
      1.3 N*m  { 13 kgf*cm, 12 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Make sure that the brackets are securely installed.

  3. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 2 claws, 2 pins and 2 guides to install the steering pad switch assembly.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

      Torque:
      2.4 N*m  { 24 kgf*cm, 21 in.*lbf }

    3. w/ Shift Paddle Switch Wire of Steering Pad Switch Assembly:


      1. Engage the clamp.

    4. Connect the steering pad switch connector to the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Pass the wire harness over the 2 guides.

  4. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  5. INSPECT AND ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


  6. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

      *a Matchmark

      Install the steering wheel assembly aligning the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft.

    2. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Torque:
      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }

    3. Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.

  7. CHECK STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

  8. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
