DESCRIPTION
The ECM continuously monitors its main and sub CPUs. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. If outputs from the CPUs are different and deviate from the standard, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store the DTC immediately.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
Tech Tips
The ECM receives signals from each sensor to control all functions of the cruise control system. When a DTC is detected, the fail-safe function remains on until the ignition switch is off.
PROCEDURE
CHECK FOR DTCS (CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM DTC P160700)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Clear the DTCs Click here.
Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
Tech Tips
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
