REAR STRUT ROD (for TMC, TMMR Made) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY

      Temporarily tighten the rear strut rod assembly (rear side) with the bolt and nut.

      Note

      When temporarily tightening the bolt, keep the nut from rotating.

      Tech Tips

      Insert the bolt from the inside of the vehicle.

    2. Support the rear axle carrier sub-assembly with a jack and a wooden block.

    3. Connect the rear strut rod assembly (front side) with the bolt and nut.

      Note

      When temporarily tightening the bolt, keep the nut from rotating

  2. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

      *1 Wooden Block

      Jack up the rear axle carrier sub-assembly, placing a wooden block under it to avoid damage. Apply load to the suspension so that the installed bolt of the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly (inner side) is horizontally aligned with the center of the rear axle hub.

      CAUTION:

      Do not jack up the rear axle carrier sub-assembly too high as the vehicle may fall.

      Note


      • When jacking up the rear axle carrier sub-assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.

      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

  3. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY


    1. Fully tighten the bolt (rear side).

      Torque:
      80 N*m  { 816 kgf*cm, 59 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      When fully tightening the bolt, keep the nut from rotating

    2. Fully tighten the bolt (front side).

      Torque:
      80 N*m  { 816 kgf*cm, 59 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      When fully tightening the bolt, keep the nut from rotating

  4. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }
  5. INSTALL NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER (for LH Side)


    1. for TMC Made:


      1. Install the No. 2 floor under cover with the 6 nuts.

        Tech Tips

        The 6 nuts are attached to the No. 2 floor under cover.

        Torque:
        4.0 N*m  { 41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf }
      2. Install the screw and 2 clips.

    2. for TMMR Made:


      1. Install the No. 2 floor under cover with the 6 nuts.

        Tech Tips

        The 6 nuts are attached to the No. 2 floor under cover.

        Torque:
        4.0 N*m  { 41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf }
      2. Install the 2 clips.

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER (for RH Side)


    1. for TMC Made:


      1. Install the No. 1 floor under cover with the 5 nuts and 2 clips.

        Tech Tips

        The 5 nuts and 2 clips are attached to the No. 1 floor under cover.

        Torque:
        Nut
        4.0 N*m  { 41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf }
      2. Install the screw.

    2. for TMMR Made:


      1. Install the No. 1 floor under cover with the 5 nuts and 2 clips.

        Tech Tips

        The 5 nuts and 2 clips are attached to the No. 1 floor under cover.

        Torque:
        Nut
        4.0 N*m  { 41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf }
  7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1049 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }
