REAR BUMPER(for Hatchback) REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01LX5Y

      Install the rear bumper arm sub-assembly LH with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      11.5 N*m  { 117 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT


    1. A01M23Y

      Install the No. 1 rear bumper reinforcement with the 8 bolts.

      Torque:
      11.5 N*m  { 117 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH


    1. A01LYZQ

      Install the rear bumper side seal LH with the 3 clips.

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH

      Install the rear bumper side seal RH with the 3 clips.

  6. INSTALL UPPER REAR BUMPER RETAINER LH


    1. A01LWHT

      Engage the 2 guides to temporarily install the upper rear bumper retainer LH to the rear combination light assembly LH.

    2. A01M3DD

      Engage the 2 guides as shown in the illustration to temporarily install the upper rear bumper retainer LH and rear combination light assembly LH as a set.

    3. Install the upper rear bumper retainer LH with the screw.

  7. INSTALL UPPER REAR BUMPER RETAINER RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH


    1. A01LZH0

      Engage the 3 claws.

    2. Install the rear bumper side retainer LH with the 2 screws.

  11. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER MOULDING


    1. A01LYWX

      Engage the 10 claws to install the rear bumper moulding to the rear bumper extension.

    2. A01LVBU

      Engage the 10 claws.

    3. A01M2A4

      Install the rear bumper extension with rear bumper moulding with the 2 screws.

  13. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01M2ZV

      Engage the guide.

    2. Engage the claw.

    3. Install the reflex reflector assembly LH with the screw.

    4. A01LXOL

      Engage the 6 claws to install the rear bumper extension sub-assembly LH.

  14. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/o TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)


    1. A01LW9C

      Engage the clamp to install the No. 2 luggage room wire.

  16. INSTALL NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)

  17. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)


    1. Engage the 5 clamps.

      A01LZHEC01
      *a Line - -
      A01M1XR Adhesive Tape - -

    2. Connect the 4 connectors.

    3. Install the No. 2 luggage room wire to the rear bumper assembly with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Apply the tape securely in place.

      • Do not touch the adhesive surface when applying the tape to prevent adhesion failure.

  18. INSTALL REAR LICENSE PLATE CUSHION (w/ Bracket)


    1. Clean the rear bumper assembly.


      1. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper assembly.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Remove the release paper from 2 new license plate cushions.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      Install the 2 rear license plate cushions as shown in the illustration.

  19. INSTALL REAR LICENSE PLATE SUPPORT BRACKET (w/ Bracket)

      Install the rear license plate support bracket with the 2 screws.
