DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motors according to the vehicle conditions.

Make sure to perform vehicle information synchronization and initialization after replacing the headlight leveling ECU assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Active Test

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT UNIT (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR) - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A182 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A178 or A180 headlight unit (headlight leveling motor) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A182-18 (LHT) - A178-2 (LH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      A182-11 (LH+) - A178-3 (LHIG) Always Below 1 Ω
      A182-24 (LH-) - A178-1 (LH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      A182-18 (LHT) or A178-2 (LH T) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A182-11 (LH+) or A178-3 (LHIG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A182-24 (LH-) or A178-1 (LH E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR)


    1. Replace the headlight unit (headlight leveling motor) with a new or known good one.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Active Test.

    6. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.
