REAR WIPER MOTOR(for Wagon) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET


    1. A012J3OC01
      *a Rear Wiper Motor Grommet Lip

      Apply MP grease to the entire surface of the rear wiper motor grommet lip.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the hole does not get clogged with grease and the grooves on the lip are filled with grease.

      *a Alignment Mark

      Install the rear wiper motor grommet.

      Tech Tips

      Install the grommet with its alignment mark facing up.

  2. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Insert the shaft of the rear wiper motor assembly into the rear wiper motor grommet.

    2. A012KHU

      Install the rear wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    3. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY


    1. A012N32C01
      *a Wiper Arm Serration

      When reusing the rear wiper arm and blade assembly:


      1. Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove any burrs, dirt, etc.

        Note

        Do not grind down the wiper arm serrations.

      *a Wiper Pivot Serration

      When reusing the rear wiper motor assembly:


      1. Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.

    3. Operate the wiper and stop the windshield wiper motor at the automatic stop position.

    4. Temporarily install the rear wiper arm and blade assembly with the nut.

      *a Dot

      Install the rear wiper arm and blade assembly with the nut to the position as shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

      Reference Measurement
      Area Measurement
      A 10.0 mm (0.394 in.)

    6. Operate the rear wiper while spraying washer fluid onto the back door glass. Make sure that the rear wiper functions properly and the wiper does not come into contact with the vehicle body.

    7. Lift the wiper arm twice after the wiper stops and check the wiper set position.

  4. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP


    1. A012FI2

      Engage the 2 claws to the rear wiper arm and blade assembly.

    2. A012F2K

      Close the rear wiper arm head cap as shown in the illustration.

    3. Engage the 2 claws to install the rear wiper arm head cap.
