DESCRIPTION

The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit consists of the airbag sensor assembly and clock assembly*1 or telltale light assembly*2.

The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator indicates the operation condition of the front passenger airbag.

DTC B1660/43 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR CONDITION


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.

      Refer to the normal condition of the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator.

  2. CHECK CONNECTORS


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly and clock assembly*1 or telltale light assembly*2.

      OK
      The connectors are properly connected.

      Tech Tips

      If the connectors are not properly connected, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.

    4. Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assembly and clock assembly*1 or telltale light assembly*2.

    5. Check that the terminals of the connectors are not deformed or damaged.

    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    4. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.

      OK
      The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator does not come on.

  4. CHECK DTC


    1. A01LZ2PC02
      *1 Clock Assembly (for Hatchback, Wagon)
      *2 Telltale Light Assembly (for Sedan)
      *3 Airbag Sensor Assembly

      Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assembly.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    5. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

    6. Turn the ignition switch off.

    7. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    8. Check for DTCs.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. for Hatchback, Wagon:

      Disconnect the connector from the clock assembly.

    4. for Sedan:

      Disconnect the connector from the telltale light assembly.

    5. Using a service wire, connect terminals 23 (PAON) and 17 (P-AB) of connector B.

      Note

      Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting the wire.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
