IMMOBILISER SYSTEM(w/o Entry and Start System) Security Indicator Light Does not Blink

DESCRIPTION

The transponder key ECU assembly blinks the security indicator light when the immobiliser is set.

PROCEDURE


  1. SYSTEM CHECK


    1. Check the vehicle specification.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SECURITY INDICATOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Immobiliser / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect E21 transponder key ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the E48*1 or E133*2 security indicator light connector.


      • *1: for Sedan

        *2: except Sedan

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for Sedan

      E48-9 (LP) - E21-8 (IND) Always Below 1 Ω
      E48-9 (LP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Connect the E21 transponder key ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SECURITY INDICATOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Immobiliser or Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

    1. When the immobiliser is set, check that the security indicator light blinks.*1

    2. When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state, check that the security indicator light is on.*2

    3. Disconnect the E108 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  10. REPLACE SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT

  11. REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily replace the transponder key ECU assembly with a new or known good one.

    2. When the immobiliser is set or theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state, check that the security indicator light blinks.
