DESCRIPTION

The ultrasonic sensor rear center (LH) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the ultrasonic sensor rear center (LH). If the ultrasonic sensor rear center (LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the back sonar or clearance sonar switch assembly on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - ULTRASONIC SENSOR REAR CENTER (LH))


    1. Disconnect the E98 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the ultrasonic sensor rear center (LH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      E98-4 (BOR) - R3-3 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      E98-20 (S4) - R3-2 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω

  2. REPLACE ULTRASONIC SENSOR REAR CENTER (LH)


    1. Replace the ultrasonic sensor rear center (LH) with a known good one.

      Tech Tips

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
