DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (front corner LH) is installed on the front bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (front corner LH). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (front corner LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note


  • If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the back sonar or clearance sonar switch assembly on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT CORNER LH))


    1. Disconnect the E98 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the r5 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (front corner LH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      E98-27 (E5) - r5-1 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      E98-23 (BOF) - r5-3 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      E98-26 (S6) - r5-2 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω

      E98-23 (BOF) - E98-26 (S6) Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT CORNER LH)


    1. Replace the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (front corner LH) with a known good one.

      Tech Tips

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
