DESCRIPTION

The ultrasonic sensor rear corner (RH) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the ultrasonic sensor rear corner (RH). If the ultrasonic sensor rear corner (RH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the back sonar or clearance sonar switch assembly on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - ULTRASONIC SENSOR REAR CORNER (RH))


    1. Disconnect the E98 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the R1 ultrasonic sensor rear corner (RH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      E98-1 (E1) - R1-1 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      E98-4 (BOR) - R1-3 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      E98-3 (S1) - R1-2 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      E98-1 (E1) - E98-3 (S1) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E98-4 (BOR) - E98-3 (S1) Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. REPLACE ULTRASONIC SENSOR REAR CORNER (RH)


    1. Replace the ultrasonic sensor rear corner (RH) with a known good one.

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
