PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK MICROPHONE (OPERATION CHECK)


    1. A01T942

      Enter the "Microphone Check" screen. Refer to Check Microphone in Operation Check.

      Click here

    2. When a voice is input into the microphone, check that the microphone input level meter changes according to the input voice.

      Check result is normal.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the E60 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the O8 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E60-6 (SNS2) - O8-5 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      E60-4 (MACC) - O8-16 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      E60-5 (MIN+) - O8-15 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E60-19 (MIN-) - O8-14 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E60-6 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E60-4 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E60-5 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E60-19 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E60-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the E60 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the O8 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Remove the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly).

  5. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Reconnect the E60 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the O8 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.

      Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 15 (MIC+) and 14 (MIC-) of the O8 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

    5. Check the waveform of the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) using the oscilloscope.

  6. REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the telephone microphone assembly with a new or known good one.

    2. Check if the same malfunction recurs.
