PARKING BRAKE LEVER REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

   for Hatchback, Wagon: Click here

   for Sedan: Click here

2. LOOSEN NO. 2 WIRE ADJUSTING NUT

   
   

   1. Release the parking brake lever lock and return it to its off position.

   2. 

      *1	Lock Nut
      *2	No. 2 Wire Adjusting Nut

      Remove the lock nut and loosen the No. 2 wire adjusting nut.

3. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *1	No. 3 Parking Brake Cable Assembly
      *2	No. 2 Parking Brake Cable Assembly

      Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake lever sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

4. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

   Tech Tips

   Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

   2. 

      Remove the 2 bolts and parking brake lever sub-assembly.
