BRAKE BOOSTER(for LHD) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

Make sure to release vacuum from the brake booster assembly before removing the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD (for 1AD-FTV)

  2. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)

  5. SEPARATE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 1AD-FTV)


    1. Separate the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly from the steering column assembly.

  6. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

  7. LOOSEN LOCK NUT

      *1 Lock Nut
      *2 Brake Master Cylinder Push Rod Clevis

      Loosen the lock nut of the brake master cylinder push rod clevis.

  8. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN

  9. REMOVE HEATER PUMP ASSEMBLY (w/ Combustion Type Power Heater)

  10. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Combustion Type Power Heater)

    1. Remove the nut and No. 3 heater bracket sub-assembly.

  11. DISCONNECT CHECK VALVE TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the check valve to connector tube hose from the brake booster assembly.

  12. REMOVE NO. 3 BRAKE TUBE CLAMP

      Disengage the clamp to remove the No. 3 brake tube clamp.

  13. SEPARATE FRONT NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE WAY


    1. A012M4E

      Remove the bolt and separate the front No. 1 brake tube way from the vehicle body.

  14. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY


    1. A012JMQ

      w/ Stop and Start System:

      Disconnect the connector from the vacuum sensor assembly.

    2. A012HON

      Remove the 4 nuts and push the brake booster assembly toward the engine compartment.

      Note

      Do not apply excessive force to the brake lines.

    3. Remove the brake master cylinder push rod clevis and lock nut from the brake booster assembly.

    4. Remove the brake booster assembly from the vehicle body.

      Note

      Do not apply excessive force to the brake lines or refrigerant lines.

  15. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET
