Tech Tips

It is necessary to replace the vacuum pump every 200000 km (124000 miles).

PROCEDURE


  1. OPERATION CHECK


    1. w/ No. 1 Engine Cover:


      1. Remove the No. 1 engine cover.

        Click here

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the union to connector tube hose from the vacuum pump assembly.

    3. A012H98C01
      *a Vacuum Gauge

      Connect the hose of a vacuum gauge to the vacuum pump assembly.

    4. Start the engine and warm it up for more than 2 minutes.

    5. With the engine idling, check the negative pressure of the vacuum pump assembly.

      Standard Pressure
      Higher than 86.7 kPa (650 mmHg, 25.6 in.Hg)

    6. Remove the vacuum gauge from the vacuum pump assembly.

    7. Connect the union to connector tube hose to the vacuum pump assembly and slide the clip to secure it.

    8. w/ No. 1 Engine Cover:


      1. Install the No. 1 engine cover.
