    2. A012JV2C01
      *a Correct
      *b Incorrect

      Attach the arms of SST to the diameter of the front coil spring.

      CAUTION:

      • Make sure that the front coil spring is installed so that the distance between the upper and lower arms of SST is at the maximum.

      • Make sure that the claws of the arms are securely attached.

    3. Using SST, compress the front coil spring.

      CAUTION:

      • If the front coil spring bends during compression, immediately stop compression and reinstall SST.

      • Do not excessively compress the front coil spring so that the coils contact each other.

      • Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.

    4. A012GKPC02
      *a Paint Mark
      *b Depression

      Install the front coil spring to the front shock absorber assembly.

      Note

      • Make sure that the end of the front coil spring is positioned in the depression of the front lower spring seat.

      • Make sure to install the coil spring to the front shock absorber assembly so that the paint mark will be positioned at the lower side of the vehicle.

  4. INSTALL FRONT UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR

    1. A012MRXC01
      *a Positioning Pin

      Install the front upper coil spring insulator to the front shock absorber assembly.

  5. INSTALL FRONT UPPER COIL SPRING SEAT

    1. A012NE5C01
      *a Cutout
      *b Hole

      Install the front upper coil spring seat to the front shock absorber assembly.

      Note

      • Make sure to install the front upper coil spring seat so that the positioning pin of the front upper coil spring insulator is inserted into the hole in the front upper coil spring seat.

      • When installing, align the cutout on the front upper coil spring seat and the front shock absorber piston rod end.

  6. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT DUST SEAL

    1. Install a new front suspension support dust seal to the front shock absorber assembly.

  7. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the front suspension support sub-assembly to the front shock absorber assembly.

  8. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT

    1. Temporarily tighten a new front support to front shock absorber nut.

    2. Remove SST from the front coil spring.

      Note

      Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.

  9. INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING

    1. Install the front shock absorber with coil spring (upper side) and front fender apron rear extension with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:
      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }
    2. Install the front shock absorber with coil spring (lower side) to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      240 N*m  { 2447 kgf*cm, 177 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      • When installing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.

      • Do not apply lubricants to the steering knuckle and shock absorber contact surfaces.

      Tech Tips

      The bolts can be installed in either direction, however, make sure that they are both installed in the same direction.

  10. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT

    1. Fully tighten the front support to front shock absorber nut.

      Torque:
      47 N*m  { 479 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf }
    2. A012I78C01
      A012G8H MP Grease
