SHIFT LEVER(for TMMT Made) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. SECURE VEHICLE


    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.

      CAUTION:


      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.

      • If the vehicle is not secure and shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  2. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER

      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws to remove the shift lock release button cover from the position indicator housing assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the shift lock release button cover and position indicator housing assembly.

  3. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  4. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Separate the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      *a Stopper

      Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.

      Note

      Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

      *a Nut
      *b Turn approximately 180°

      Turn the nut of the transmission control cable assembly approximately 180° counterclockwise and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Note

      Do not turn the nut excessively as the internal spring may come off and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.

  5. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. w/o Smart Entry and Start System:


      1. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      2. Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

      3. Disengage the 4 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    2. w/ Smart Entry and Start System:


      1. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      2. Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

      3. Disengage the 4 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Remove the 4 bolts and transmission floor shift assembly from the vehicle body.

  6. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      *a Shift Lock Control ECU Connector *b Transmission Control Switch Connector
    2. Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

    3. Disengage the 4 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    4. A01TANA

      Remove the 4 bolts and transmission floor shift assembly from the vehicle body.
