TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE(for TMMT Made) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Pass the transmission control cable assembly into the vehicle and install the transmission control cable assembly to the vehicle body with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
    2. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the rear engine mounting insulator with the bolt.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
    3. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.

      Turn the control shaft lever clockwise until it stops, then turn it counterclockwise 2 notches.

    5. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever with the nut.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
    6. Turn the nut of the transmission control cable assembly approximately 180° counterclockwise. While holding the nut in place, push in the stopper until it clicks twice.

      Tech Tips

      If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly turn the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper again.

    7. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly. Check that the spring is positioned at (A) and push in the stopper.

      Note


      • If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly turn the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper again.

      • Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely locked.

      Confirm that the shift lever is in N, and then install the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Note


      • Securely install the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.

      • Install the end of the transmission control cable assembly so that its adjustment lock section is on the driver side.

  2. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION

  3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR


    1. Install the front No. 1 floor heat insulator to the vehicle body with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
  4. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst)

  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
