CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE SYSTEM Pattern Select Switch Sport Mode Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The ECM memory contains the programs for the normal and sport shift patterns.

By following the programs corresponding to the signals from the SPORT switch (combination switch assembly), park/neutral position switch assembly and other various sensors, the ECM switches the shift control solenoid valves on and off, and controls the transaxle gear ratio.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING GTS (PATTERN SWITCH (PWR/M))

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

   3. Turn the GTS on.

   4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Primary.

   5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

3. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (SPORT Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))

      Remove the SPORT switch (combination switch assembly).

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 8 - 3 Switch being pushed Below 50 Ω 8 - 3 Switch not being pushed 10 kΩ or higher

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E136-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

   2. Install the SPORT switch (combination switch assembly).

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the A50 ECM connector.

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A50-57 (PWMS) - Body ground Switch being pushed Below 50 Ω A50-57 (PWMS) - Body ground Switch not being pushed 10 kΩ or higher

   3. Connect the A50 ECM connector.

      Result
      Proceed to OK NG
