MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When the manual transaxle assembly is removed, be sure to use a new clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly and new installation bolts. Removal of the transaxle allows the compressed clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly to return to its original position. Dust from the moving section may damage the seal of the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly, possibly causing clutch fluid leaks.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

  2. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

  3. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

  4. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY (w/ Stop And Start System)

  5. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY (w/o Stop And Start System)

  6. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS (w/ Stop And Start System)

      *a Back-up Light Switch Assembly Connector
      *b Park/neutral Position Switch Assembly Connector

      Disconnect the 4 clamps from the manual transaxle assembly.

    2. Disconnect the back-up light switch assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

  7. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS (w/o Stop And Start System)

      Disconnect the 2 clamps from the manual transaxle assembly.

    2. Disconnect the back-up light switch assembly connector.

  8. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 8 bolts and manual transaxle assembly from the engine assembly.

  9. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

      Remove the 4 bolts and front engine mounting bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.

  10. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH


    1. A012L3I

      Remove the 4 bolts and engine mounting bracket LH from the manual transaxle assembly.

  11. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine mounting bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.

  12. REMOVE BLEEDER CLUTCH RELEASE TUBE

  13. REMOVE CLUTCH FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET

      Remove the bolt and clutch flexible hose bracket from the manual transaxle assembly.

  14. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE BLEEDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE WITH BEARING CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

  16. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER TO BLEEDER TUBE

  17. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets from the manual transaxle assembly.

  18. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVEN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A012JSQ

      Remove the bolt and speedometer driven hole cover sub-assembly from the manual transaxle assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the speedometer driven hole cover sub-assembly.
