DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 1ZR-FAE)

  2. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 1ZR-FE)

  3. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL

      Using SST, remove the transmission case oil seal from the manual transaxle assembly.

  4. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL


    1. B0042VRN01

      Using SST, remove the transaxle case oil seal from the manual transaxle assembly.

  5. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL


    1. B004479N01

      Coat the lip of a new transmission case oil seal with MP grease.

    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the transmission case oil seal to the manual transaxle assembly.

      Standard Depth
      10.6 to 11.6 mm (0.417 to 0.457 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the transmission case oil seal lip.

  6. INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL


    1. B0042KNN01

      Coat the lip of a new transaxle case oil seal with MP grease.

    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the transaxle case oil seal to the manual transaxle assembly.

      Standard Depth
      1.2 to 2.2 mm (0.0472 to 0.0866 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the transaxle case oil seal lip.
