TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. SECURE VEHICLE


    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.

      CAUTION:


      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.

      • If the vehicle is not secure, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

      Remove the 3 nuts and No. 1 front floor heat insulator from the vehicle body.

  6. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback, Wagon)

  7. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Sedan)

  8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control select cable from the floor shift lever assembly.

    2. A0030SB

      Disconnect the transmission control shift cable from the floor shift lever assembly.

    3. A0030TE

      Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the floor shift lever assembly.

    4. A002ZNPN03

      Remove the 2 clips (A) and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the manual transaxle assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 clips (B) and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control cable bracket assembly.

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the rear engine mounting insulator.

      Remove the 2 nuts and then remove the transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle exterior.
