MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

    Click here

  2. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL


    1. A0030BLC03
      *1 Manual Transmission Filler Plug
      *2 Manual Transmission Drain Plug

      Remove the manual transmission filler plug and gasket from the manual transmission case.

    2. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the manual transmission drain plug and gasket to drain the manual transaxle oil.

    3. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the manual transmission drain plug and a new gasket to the front transaxle case.

      Torque:
      45 N*m  { 459 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf }
  3. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL


    1. A0030VFC02
      *a 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.197 in.)

      Add manual transaxle oil until the oil level is between 0 and 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the manual transmission filler plug opening.

      Manual Transaxle Oil
      "Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil LV GL-4 and SAE 75W" or "API GL-4 and SAE 75W"
      Standard Capacity
      2.4 liters (2.5 US qts, 2.1 Imp. qts)
    2. Install the manual transmission filler plug and a new gasket to the manual transmission case.

      Torque:
      39.2 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • When adding manual transaxle oil, make sure that the vehicle is level.

      • An excessively large or small amount of manual transaxle oil may cause problems.

      • After adding manual transaxle oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.

  4. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

  5. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
