CLUTCH UNIT(for EC65A) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly is removed, be sure to use a new clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly and new installation bolts. Removal of the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly allows the compressed clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly to return to its original position. Dust from the moving section may damage the seal of the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly, possibly causing clutch fluid leaks.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE BLEEDER CLUTCH RELEASE TUBE

    1. Using a 10 mm union nut wrench, remove the bleeder clutch release tube from the clutch release bleeder sub-assembly and clutch actuator assembly.

  3. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE BLEEDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a 10 mm union nut wrench, separate the clutch release bleeder sub-assembly from the bleeder clutch release tube.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and clutch release bleeder sub-assembly from the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly.

  4. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE WITH BEARING CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the clutch tube boot from the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly.

      Remove the 3 bolts and clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly together with the clutch release cylinder to bleeder tube from the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly.

  5. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER TO BLEEDER TUBE

      Using a 10 mm union nut wrench, remove the clutch release cylinder to bleeder tube from the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly.

  6. REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY

    *a Matchmark

    1. Put matchmark on the clutch cover assembly and flywheel sub-assembly.

    2. Loosen each bolt 180° at a time until the spring tension is released.

    3. Remove the 6 bolts and pull off the clutch cover assembly.

      Note

      Do not drop the clutch disc assembly.

  7. REMOVE CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY

    Note

    Keep the lined part of the clutch disc assembly, the pressure plate, and the surface of the flywheel sub-assembly away from oil and foreign matter.
