STOP AND START SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:P1780

DTC Code DTC Name
P1780 Discrepancy between Neutral Position SW and Shift Position

DESCRIPTION

The engine stop and start ECU detects a malfunction by comparing the shift position signal with the neutral position switch signal input state. When a malfunction occurs, the engine stop and start ECU stores this DTC, blinks the stop and start cancel indicator light, and prohibits the stop and start control.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (NEUTRAL SWITCH)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Neutral Switch.

Powertrain > Stop and Start > Data List
      Tester Display
      Neutral Switch
    5. Read the value when the shift lever is in neutral and any other position
