STOP AND START SYSTEM Stop and Start Cancel Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Stop and start control can be disabled by pressing the eco run cancel switch assembly. The eco run cancel switch assembly is a momentary-type switch that switches between on and off when the switch is pressed. While stop and start control is disabled, the stop and start cancel indicator light is illuminated to inform the driver.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (CANCEL SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Cancel Switch.

    5. Read the value when the eco run cancel switch assembly is pressed.

    1. Inspect the eco run cancel switch assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECO RUN CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the E136 eco run cancel switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      E136-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - ECO RUN CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the E24 engine stop and start ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the E136 eco run cancel switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E24-23 (ECAN) - E136-1 (ECU) Always Below 1 Ω
      E24-23 (ECAN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E136-1 (ECU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
