EGR VALVE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL EGR VALVE (ELECTRIC EGR CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY)

   
   
   1. 

      *1	EGR Valve (Electric EGR Control Valve Assembly)
      *a	View A
      *b	Upper

      Install a new gasket to the intake air connector.

   2. Apply adhesive to the 2 bolts.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.

   3. Install the EGR valve (electric EGR control valve assembly) with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:

      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not start the engine for at least 1 hour after installation.

   4. Connect the No. 3 water by-pass hose to the EGR valve (electric EGR control valve assembly) and slide the clip to secure it.

      Note

      Engage the clip within the area shown in the illustration.

   5. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the EGR valve (electric EGR control valve assembly) and slide the clip to secure it.

      Note

      Engage the clip within the area shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL EGR WITH COOLER PIPE ASSEMBLY

3. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK

4. INITIALIZATION

   
   

   1. When replacing the EGR valve (electric EGR control valve assembly), perform initialization.
