PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT SUPPLY PUMP ASSEMBLY

    (Fuel Temperature Sensor)

    1. Inspect the resistance of the suction control valve.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Terminals Condition Resistance
        1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 2.60 to 3.15 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the supply pump assembly.

    2. Inspect the resistance of the fuel temperature sensor.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        1 - 2 -20°C (-4°F) 13.92 to 17.01 kΩ
        1 - 2 0°C (32°F) 5.31 to 6.49 kΩ
        1 - 2 20 °C (68°F) 2.25 to 2.75 kΩ
        1 - 2 40°C (104°F) 1.06 to 1.29 kΩ
        1 - 2 60°C (140°F) 0.54 to 0.66 kΩ
        1 - 2 80 °C (176°F) 0.29 to 0.36 kΩ
        1 - 2 100°C (212°F) 0.17 to 0.20 kΩ

        If the result is not as specified, replace the supply pump assembly.
