FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL


    1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new timing chain cover oil seal.

      Note


      • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

    2. A01T9O7N05

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the timing chain cover oil seal until its surface is flush with the front crankshaft oil seal retainer edge.

      Note


      • Wipe off excess grease from the crankshaft.

      • Do not tap in the timing chain cover oil seal at an angle.

      Tech Tips

      Timing chain cover oil seal tap in depth: - 1.0 to 1.0 mm (-0.0397 to 0.0397 in.)

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY


    1. Align the pulley set key with the key groove of the crankshaft pulley.

      *a Turn
      *b Hold

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley in place and tighten the bolt.

      for 86 mm (3.39 in.) Bolt Pitch Type:

      for 64 mm (2.52 in.) Bolt Pitch Type:

      SST
      09213-54015
      Torque:
      190 N*m  { 1937 kgf*cm, 140 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      For the 64 mm (2.52 in.) bolt pitch type, the part number of the installation bolt for SST (crankshaft pulley holding tool) is 91551-00850 (quantity: 2).
