FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Full Cover Type)

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Half Cover Type)

  4. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

    Click here

  5. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH

  6. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT

    Click here

  7. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

      *b Hold

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley in place and loosen the pulley bolt.

      for 86 mm (3.39 in.) Bolt Pitch Type:

      SST
      09213-58014   ( 91551-80840 )
      09330-00021

      for 64 mm (2.52 in.) Bolt Pitch Type:

      SST
      09213-54015

      Tech Tips

      For the 64 mm (2.52 in.) bolt pitch type, the part number of the installation bolt for SST (crankshaft pulley holding tool) is 91551-00850 (quantity: 2).

      *b Hold

      Using SST, remove the crankshaft pulley and pulley bolt.

      Tech Tips

      If necessary, remove the crankshaft pulley and pulley bolt using SST.

  8. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL


    1. Using a knife, cut off the lip of the timing chain cover oil seal.

      *a Protective Tape
      *b Cut Position

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, pry out the timing chain cover oil seal.

      Note

      After removing, check the crankshaft and timing chain cover sub-assembly for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
