DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

Use a Toyota genuine belt or an equivalent high strength belt when replacing the belt. If a high strength belt is not used, the durability of the belt may be insufficient. A high strength belt is reinforced with an aramid core and is stronger than the other belts with a PET (polyester) or PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) core.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT


    1. Install the V-ribbed belt as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Tensioner *2 Crankshaft
      *3 Water Pump *4 Generator
      *5 A/C Compressor - -
    2. A0030SI

      Turn the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly counterclockwise and remove the 5 mm hexagon wrench.

  2. INSPECT V-RIBBED BELT

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER (w/ No. 1 Engine Cover)


  4. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH


  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Half Cover Type)


    1. Install the No. 1 engine under cover with the 6 bolts and 7 clips.

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Full Cover Type)


    1. Install the No. 1 engine under cover with the 6 bolts and 11 clips.

  7. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }
