ECM REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note


    • After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

    • Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. SEPARATE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER

      Remove the bolt and separate the inlet No. 1 air cleaner.

  7. REMOVE ECM


    1. B0043XQ

      Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

    2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. B0044K5

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    4. Disengage the clamp and remove the ECM.

      Note


      • If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 1 ECM bracket from the ECM.

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket from the ECM.
