THROTTLE BODY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY GASKET

    1. B0044VVC01
      *a Protrusion

Install a new throttle body gasket onto the intake manifold.

      Tech Tips

Orient the protrusion of the gasket as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the throttle body assembly to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts. (Type A)

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    2. Install the throttle body assembly to the intake manifold with the 4 bolts. (Type B)

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    3. Connect the connector and 2 water hoses.

  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and tighten the hose clamp.

    2. Connect the ventilation hose and slide the clamp to secure it.

    3. Lock the 2 clamps.

    4. Connect the mass air flow meter connector and 2 wire harness clamps.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  6. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note

Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle body assembly or any throttle body assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body assembly is cleaned.

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.

      Note

If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above step again.

    3. Connect the GTS to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Perform "Inspection After Repairs" Click here.

    5. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range with the A/C switch off.

      Standard idle speed
      for CVT
      600 to 700 rpm
      for Manual transaxle
      580 to 680 rpm

      Note

      • Turn all electrical systems and the A/C off.

      • Inspect the idle speed with the cooling fans off.

      • When checking the idle speed, the transaxle should be in neutral or park.

      Standard
      Engine Idle Speed
600 to 700 rpm (for CVT models)
580 to 680 rpm (for manual transaxle models)
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or higher.

Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List
      Tester Display
      Throttle Position
    7. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
